Dr. Mark Henry is honored to announce Cypress Fairbanks Independent School District’s inaugural Superintendent Fun Run on Saturday February 15, 2014 at the Berry Center benefiting the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation.
According to Director for Community Programs Kristina Perez, “[CFISD] chose the Superheroes for Kids theme as a unique way to demonstrate our commitment to children. Many of our staff members are their heroes, and go above and beyond to impact their lives. We hope people join with us to make it a festive event and dress up along with the theme!” The Superintendent Fun Run is an opportunity for the school district to show the community how much the employees appreciate the people of the community and everything they do for their schools. It is an opportunity to join together and build relationships with fellow employees, families and community members over exercise, laughter and some fantastic fun.
To top it off, the Superintendent Fun run supports the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation -- an excellent charity. Half of the students in the Cy-Fair community come from economically challenged homes. Henry said, “I feel like it is my responsibility to help give them the opportunity to pursue their higher education dreams by making more money available for them. Every dollar we can raise for the CFEF goes to help change the life of a student, and their whole family.”
The Superintendent Fun Run will feature a 5k (3.1-mile) run, a one-mile run and a one-mile family walk. Attendees can expect goodie bags with prizes, superhero capes, masks, event bracelets and t-shirts. The bounce house, bungee jump, rock wall, and inflatable slide will be sure to keep the kids entertained.
