There’s lots of reasons to love about living in a master planned community - convenience, lifestyle, and high-quality standards, just to name a few. In Houston, the demand for these communities has gotten so high that there are more people looking for a home than there are places available. Houston is one of the top places in the country for building a carefully designed community - reports from RCLCO Real Estate Advisors show that the city’s community homes accounts for 30% of all total new-home sales in the region, and that number’s growing.
Michelle and Parrish Braud, recent new home-owners into one of Houston’s master planned community, said that their family was attracted to the school district, available amenities, but that the biggest draw was the pre-planned design of the community. "You don't want to be the biggest house on the block or the smallest house on the block," Braud said in an interview with the Chronicle. "The conformity helps values. You don't want to buy a $500,000 house and have someone put up a trailer or a high-rise next to you.”
It looks like they’re not the only ones who think so - industry analyses from Metrostudy found that 40% of the country’s largest master planned communities were in Houston alone. No other region had as many planned neighborhoods.
Buying a ticket into the master planned community lifestyle doesn’t need to break the bank, either. Homes within the 200’s range are now available at Towne Lake, and are all easily accessible to entertainment and luxury conveniences like the upcoming waterfront community center the Marina and Boardwalk.
