Athletes swam in Houston’s largest private recreational lake, raced throughout community
CYPRESS, TEXAS (September 12, 2013) – Thousands of athletes and spectators recently flocked to Towne Lake, Caldwell Companies’ northwest Houston community connected by water, for the Houston Towne Lake Triathlon. The annual event, presented by Onurmark Productions, featured both Olympic- and sprint-distance courses set throughout Towne Lake, in addition to a junior triathlon for athletes ages 6-15.
Athletes participating in Onurmark’s Giving Challenge for this event raised $24,253 for three nonprofit organizations. More than $132,000 has been raised for dozens of charities since the program’s inception in 2012.
“It’s great to see the Towne Lake community come out and cheer for these dedicated triathletes throughout the course and at the finish line,” said Kent Puckett, vice president of operations, developments of Caldwell Cos. “This event is a unique way to showcase Towne Lake, allowing people to experience first hand our beautiful community and its amenities.”
