Towne Lake residents have yet another reason to celebrate our wonderful community!
Last month, the Urban Land Institute’s Houston chapter named Towne Lake as a finalist for its 2015 Development of Distinction award. This prestigious accomplishment confirms Towne Lake’s place among the city’s best developments and recognizes best practices in design, construction, economic viability, community health, marketing and management.
The Urban Land Institute was established in 1936 as a global nonprofit education and research institute. The Houston chapter has over 1,000 members focused on supporting real estate developments that enrich the surrounding community with sustainable best practices.
Finalists for the ULI Development of Distinction awards were selected by a panel of world-class real estate leaders. Finalists will compete in three major categories: for profit, not for profit and heritage (with two projects winning honorable mention, including Lone Star College-CyFair).
“The Development of Distinction awards is unique in that projects must be complete, from design, to management, to market success, to be considered,” said Carleton Riser, ULI Houston chair and Transwestern Development president. “Ultimately, the winning projects must make a positive impact on their surroundings and the larger community, and our hope is that developers will learn from these projects and incorporate their best practices into their developments.”
Towne Lake is the only master-planned community competing in the for-profit category, with Hanover Rice Village and Braeburn Village listed among other notable finalists in the same group.
An awards ceremony will be held on January 27th, 2015 at the Rice Crystal Ballroom to honor the finalists and announce the winners for each category.
