February 27th doesn’t sound like a special date, but we have some big events happening. At Towne Lake we are all about supporting, not just our community, but the community of Cypress and the 3rd annual Superintendent's Fun Run & Festival at Towne Lake is one of the many ways we help support the community.
The Fun Run & Festival has something for everyone including: a live band, a variety of vendor booths, delicious food trucks, student performances, a children's play zone, a 1 mile run, a family walking path, and a certified 5k! Sign up a team and come join the fun! The event benefits the Cy-Fair Educational Foundation.
Stick around after the race and enjoy food trucks, vendor booths, and photo ops with mascots and superheroes. You can also take a tour of the Superhero Bus, watch performances by community groups, and listen to Sawdust Road (live band). Kids can spend time in the children’s zone with bounce houses, a rock wall, a bungee run, go karts and much more!
Not only is the CFISD Fun Run happening, but after the race is The Heritage at Towne Lake’s 7th Annual Car Show. Nearly 100 residents will volunteer time and talent to make this public event possible. A portion of proceeds will be split among three charities to be selected by the residents of The Heritage. More than 2,000 visitors came to last year’s show which featured more than 150 new and classic cars.
Cars and trucks are judged in categories of Best of Show, Best Paint, and Best Restoration depending on age – 1979 models and younger or 1980 models and older. Motorcycles are also welcome to join in the show at The Heritage. Pre-registration is advised for those wishing to enter a car, truck, or motorcycle in the show.
The show is free and open to the public from 11:00-4:30 p.m. Judging will take place from 11:00 -2:30 p.m., followed by an awards presentation at 3:30 p.m. Food and raffle tickets will be available for purchase.
