Start the weekend off with the Houston Children’s Festival - the largest children's festival in the US! Meet the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles, take on the Battlefield Houston Laser Tag Challenge, and check out over 300 activities for kids and kids at heart. (Parking and directions).
(Downtown Houston, 8:00pm)
Just a mile away from the Children's Festival, walk over to the Discovery Green to catch the free Guardians of the Galaxy screening. Bring blankets/lawn chairs and picnics and arrive early for contests and a great viewing spot!
Sunday
(Hermann Park, 10am - 5pm)
Relax in the sun and enjoy the fresh air at Hermann Park's 2nd Annual Kite Festival - with performers, ribbon dancers, musicians, jugglers, and pedal boats, there’s a lot more than kites to keep everyone entertained. Food trucks available nearby, and there’s always a great spot at the park for a picnic.
