Race spotlights local athletes, utilizes Houston’s largest private recreational lake

Towne Lake, Caldwell Companies’ northwest Houston community connected by water, is partnering with Onurmark Productions to host its fourth annual Houston Towne Lake Triathlon on Monday, Sept. 2. More than 1,500 racers are expected to compete in the event, where athletes can choose to race either the sprint- or Olympic-distance courses.

The ladies of Cy-Fair Republican Women are pleased to invite you to attend an upcoming meeting and hope that you will want to join our family of concerned women willing to make a difference in our community, our state, and our nation. Cy-Fair Republican Women was founded in the summer of 2005 when several ladies in the northwest area of Houston met to determine if there was enough interest in the area to form a Republican Women's group. The ladies met, agreed, and got to work!

Senate Bill 485 sets Aug. 9-11 as the dates of this year’s annual Sales Tax Holiday. As in previous years, the law exempts most clothing, footwear, school supplies and backpacks priced under $100 from sales and use taxes, which could save shoppers about $8 on every $100 they spend.

Community businesses and local entrepreneurs are invited to the attend the Cy-Fair Chamber of Commerce business to business expo on July 17th from 9:30am until 2pm with a membership luncheon from 11:30am until 1pm at the Northwest Forest Hotel & Conference Center Settlement House, 12715 Telge Road.

Attendance doubled this year at Towne Lake’s second annual Memorial Day Lantern Launch. Residents and community members dedicated 1,000 paper lanterns in memory of loved ones who have passed away.

This year’s star studded line up include a variety of talented performers. Concerts start after the last rodeo event each evening. The start time can vary daily based on the rodeo events, however the performers take the stage between 9pm and 9:30pm Monday thru Friday and Saturdays and Sundays between 5:30pm and 6:30pm
